MICHAEL O'BRIEN RIP

The club was shocked to hear of the sudden death of club member Michael O'Brien MCC (59). Our sympathy goes to Michael's wife Noll and to his family and also to Michael's many friends who were saddened to hear the news of his death. Michael was a member of our Belvedere Cup team which reached the county final last year and was looking forward to representing the club in this year’s competition. Michael will be sadly missed by all who knew him, and he will be warm-heartedly remembered for the wonderful charity work he did in the local community, and was always available to help a person in need. A true gentleman, may he rest in peace.
GOLF TRIP TO SPAIN
Ten club members went to Spain recently to play some golf and to try out some of the local brew. We played four courses La Finca, Campoamor, El Plantio and Allenda. The tour was organised from this side by John Lonergan and Jimmy Hough who is well known in golfing circles in the South East being a former member of Clonmel and Tramore golf clubs. Jimmy now lives in Spain, where he has a bar which he runs with his wife Carmel and sons Trevor and Paddy. Jimmy who also organises golfing trips to Spain had everything organised down to the last detail at the Spanish end. The bar is Katie Reilly's, Villamartin, Orihuela Costa, Torrevieja. If you are thinking of going to Spain on a golfing trip , you should contact Jimmy and he will organise everything for you. His phone number is 0034 650731399.
