SLIEVENAMON SENIOR CLUB

The new Slievenamon Senior Club (over 55s) committee who were elected at a special meeting recently to form a senior section of the club. Front: Ray Carthy (Secretary), Bernard Walsh (Chairman), Tony Falvey (Treasurer). Back: Frank Lonergan, Seamus McGowan, John Ryan and Billy Phelan. They will organise their own competitions and outings etc. All members over 55 are welcome to take part especially our distance members. So just turn up on the day and you will meet and make some new friends. They will be holding a competition every Wednesday mornng between 11.00am and 1.00pm.

Their first competition was held on Wednesday the 18th of April. The first competition was a three ball rumble with the two best scores counting on each hole. Tony Falvey (Treasurer), Ray Carthy (Secretary), Billy Phelan and Bernard Walsh (Chairman) making the draw for partners for the three ball rumble.

The team of Frank Lonergan, Kevin Wilson and John Brown finished third in the rumble competition with 73 pts.

The team of Kevin O'Connor, Billy Phelan and John Ryan finished second with 81 pts.

The winning team in the seniors rumble was Joe Corbett, Tony Falvey and Michael Hogan with 85 pts.

GENTS SENIOR (OVER 55'S) OUTING WITH CLONMEL G.C. SENIORS

Taking part in the the seniors outing with Clonmel G.C. at Slievenamon on Wednesday last the 9th September were Andy Gleeson (Slievenamon), Joe Corbett (Slievenamon), Frank O'Meara (Clonmel) and Pat Hegarty (Clonmel). This was a return game, as the Slievenamon seniors were guests of the Clonmel club last month.

John O'Riordan (Clonmel), Billy Perry (Slievenamon), Michael O'Mahoney (Clonmel) and Jackie O'Dwyer (Slievenamon) who part in the the seniors outing with Clonmel G.C. at Slievenamon.
